Clean , attractive and comfortable, friendly hosts
Only booked for 2 night stay, would have liked to stay longer
Great local walks and cafés nearby
Close to everything, just right location, affordable, top of the line, home away from home, go the extra mile, home made bread was bonus, spotless, gleaming
Owners/operators are welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Their hospitality skills are excellent and the BnB beautifully presented.
Our stay was not long enough.
Great restaurants and cafes within walking/riding distance. Accommodation is reminiscent of a Parisian apartment. A stay is fully recommended.
Squint and you could be in a country cottage in France! Lovely space! Beautiful breakfast, very private, friendly hosts and attention to detail! Carrington is very quiet. A good walk to the Honeysuckle precinct. Would definitely stay here again
Maison de May is a lovely B and B in the historical suburb of Carrington. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished. The only slight draw-back was the fact that the wi-fi wasn’t working, however, I understand that was about to be rectified. Overall, a very high standard B and B which I would recommend.
We love this place and have stayed several times before but this time was the best. The new owners Sue and Paul go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. They are not intrusive at all but just know that the little extras make all the difference. The home baked fresh bread daily, the abundance of breakfast and other snacks, beautiful toiletries and so clean…..
Our stay this year was over Christmas as we have family in Newcastle and our hosts went all out to make it special….gorgeous little Christmas decorations, white bath robes, bowls of Christmas treats, home made Christmas cake and a lovely Christmas gift…we were blown away….nothing was too much trouble and we had a really relaxed and lovely 4 nights away. I think Maison de May is great value for money…we had our daughter stay with us also and it was so much nicer than a sterile hotel room.
Congratulations you guys and thank you so much…we cant wait to come back- great job and Happy New Year!!
Travelling for work, I was delightfully surprised when I arrived at Maison de May. Paul and Sue are wonderful hosts, and the Studio Jardin is so comfortable, I didn’t want to leave, plush towels, comfy bed, well equipped kitchenette and a courtyard view which is a great place to sit and have a relax. I was staying when the Queen Elizabeth cruise ship was in port and was a great viewing vantage to walk down towards the park and watch her leave. The area was very quiet so it also made for a great nights sleep.

My wife & I were so impressed with our apartment before we’d even unpacked that we tried to secure a 2nd night. Sad faces as, not surprisingly, it was already booked.
Our hosts, Paul & Sue, are THE most delightful couple who couldn’t do enough for us to make our all-too-brief stay memorable. The charming French provincial-themed apartment was spotless, well stocked with foods, coffee – including a Nespresso machine – tea, nibbles & even a freshly baked loaf of bread that was delicious. The continental brekkie was excellent comprising quality, fresh seasonal fruit, yoghurt, croissants, broad range of cereals, 2 x 1 litre bottles of milk &, of course, spreads & butter. Not pats, but a large butter dish. so many extra & welcome touches.
Besides ceiling fans, it’s air-conditioned, plenty of soaps, a kitchenette, plenty of pots & pans & cutlery, good size fridge (for beers &/or wines), THE most comfy pillows & mattress for a great night’s sleep, beautiful garden, private courtyard, own secure entry, insect screened windows & lockable insect screened doors.
All this only a relaxed 45 minute level walk or 5 minute drive into the very popular Honeysuckle precinct on Newcastle’s waterfront.
Strongly suggest booking well in advance before its popularity outstrips available days. We’ll certainly be returning.

I was greeted with a warm welcome and treated like a special guest. The breakfast variety was delicious and good, even with gluten free requirements. The beautiful furnishings and decor was tasteful and pretty. Located in a quieter part of NewCastle it had a small town feel. Loved the owners warmth, consideration and help. I would highly recommend this to anyone for a quiet getaway with Parisian flavour.
Going to Newcastle.?
Definitely stay here.!! Dont bother looking anywhere else.
Cant fault it.
Our hosts made themselves readily available to us if needed,at the same time the studio was very private
